This elegant pastry shop is located in Xintiandi, Shanghai, a unique neighbourhood known for its architecture. The traditional homes called shikumens have been renovated to house shops, restaurants and other leisure establishments, like this bakery from New York (USA).
Lady M’s design is inspired by the elegant art deco exterior architecture, creating a space with a strong visual impact for pedestrians, and offering customers a place where premium quality can be found in the pastries and the interior décor. The various materials and white hues make this a sophisticated and refined spot.
The interior’s simplicity and minimalism are also present in the open-air terrace furnished with Africa armchairs by Eugeni Quitllet, an excellent example of avant-garde and minimalist design, creating the perfect combination with the traditional architecture of this unique neighbourhood.
The end result of these elements is a sophisticated pastry shop where Vondom furniture showcases the meticulous, modern style.
Although Lady M has establishments in many other Chinese cities, this is the flagship location and it was designed by Wee Chen, Founding Partner and Executive Director of SLT Design Consulting Firm.
