A learning space inspired by the sea
Learning a language is also a way of discovering a new perspective on the world. At El Buzo Inglés, a language academy located in Castellón, this idea becomes a spatial experience that accompanies students from the moment they arrive.
Designed by Vitale, the project brings the brand’s universe into the interior: diving, exploration and respect for aquatic ecosystems. The result is a distinctive educational environment conceived to spark curiosity, support concentration and connect learning with a more conscious approach to the natural world.
Developed around the concept of “The Learning Journey”, the academy offers an immersive experience that goes beyond language. The identity of El Buzo Inglés is expressed through an enveloping atmosphere in which colour, light and furniture create a landscape inspired by the underwater world.
An immersion into the world of El Buzo Inglés
Coral, the academy’s signature colour, is combined with different shades of blue to create lively, recognisable and interconnected spaces. This colour palette brings energy to the shared areas and a sense of calm to the classrooms, adapting naturally to the different moments of the learning process.
References to the marine world appear subtly throughout the project. Circular windows tinted in blue recall a ship’s portholes and transform the perception of the interior. Seen through them, the classrooms appear as though viewed from beneath the surface, reinforcing the sense of immersion that defines the academy’s identity.
Each classroom is conceived as a small microcosm, with its own colour and atmosphere. Indirect lighting, chromatic surfaces and graphic elements create stimulating environments without becoming overwhelming. In the children’s classroom, suspended forms evoke jellyfish floating close to the surface, introducing a playful element that encourages learning through imagination.
Vitale’s interior design ensures that the narrative of El Buzo Inglés extends beyond its visual identity. The space communicates the academy’s personality, values and approach to education: active, approachable and committed to the marine environment.
The Love chair by Vondom in an educational project
The Love chair, designed by Eugeni Quitllet for Vondom, was selected for the academy’s classrooms. Its light, enveloping silhouette integrates naturally into the project’s colour scheme, both in the spaces defined by deep blues and in those where coral takes centre stage.
Its design creates visual continuity between the different classrooms and complements the fluid language of the interior. The curved backrest softens the geometry of the tables and architectural elements, while its understated presence allows the overall environment to remain clear and balanced.
In an educational setting, furniture must respond to everyday use, support different layouts and adapt to the rhythm of changing activities. The Love chair combines a distinctive aesthetic with a functional, lightweight and versatile solution. Its ability to work across different configurations makes it particularly suitable for classrooms, meeting areas and contract projects where flexibility is an essential part of the experience.
The Love collection is inspired by a universal idea: an invisible feeling capable of transforming everything around it. Eugeni Quitllet expresses this concept through an approachable, essential and gently embracing design.
The chairs used at El Buzo Inglés are also made from recycled plastics recovered from the Mediterranean. This choice strengthens the relationship between the furniture and the purpose of the project, which is closely connected to marine protection, sustainability and the responsible use of resources.
Design that supports new ways of learning
El Buzo Inglés shows how interior design can turn a language academy into a place with a distinctive identity. The marine inspiration is not treated as a decorative theme, but as a consistent thread connecting the space, the educational approach and the brand’s values.
Within this narrative, Vondom’s Love chair brings design, functionality and coherence. It supports the learning experience without imposing itself, helping to create classrooms that feel more flexible, human and stimulating.
Because learning is also shaped by the spaces in which it takes place
